[ On the bright side, having to explain how her magic works to someone else has been helping her jog her memory, so she'll want to set some (more) time aside for that exact kind of thing.

However, that timer going off was a godsend. No offense, but she wanted a break now! And her spell hadn't accidentally fired off, so it was working so far...! Konoka lifted an arm and an index finger before roughly pinching the soft part of her inner elbow. At once she felt something like her whole body twitch once, the stored up 'Ardescat' spell eventually bursting loose from the extended index finger into a tiny flame. ]

I... think that worked!

[ If the timer hadn't been enough to distract Matt from his scrupulous line of questioning, that flame would do the trick. He beamed, sitting straight in his chair. ]

Yes! That's perfect!

[ Well. A little flammable. But they could keep a bucket of water handy if it came down to it. ]

[ Konoka took a moment to finger the leather collar, and how firm and snug it felt around her neck. It was somehow soothing. ]

[ Matt caught the hug just in time to return it with one arm. He relaxed a little into the contact--all touch felt good to him, comforting on some level, especially if the person doing the touching was attractive--and then it was gone.

He gave Konoka another smile, small and warm. ]
