Yes, okay, totally. I've done conditional wards and charms and stuff and I think they're really satisfying when you get them right.
I'd think about ... if you can set it to a movement you make, or maybe a physiological response? [ He smiled crookedly. ] Like, I don't know how to do this, but if you could set a condition that involved changes in your circulation or a cramp.

[ Yue once pulled off something similar, or so she was told. She hadn't been there, but Yue's cleverness was definitely something the magic users of 3-A admired, herself included.
It wouldn't do to cast it right this second, but Konoka thought of a small spark that she could store a simple Ardescat that she'd cast but not trigger until she felt a pinch. She could feel just the tiniest touch that the spell had been primed. ]
Okay! So I'm gonna wait five minutes, and if I did this right, I won't launch a spell until I feel a pinch!

[ On a bit of a rising note, "ohhh." Matt watched in fascination. Despite the sapphire's healing bent and his own facility with channeling magic through his body, he hadn't cast very many spells designed to affect the body. Now he was thinking he might have to start. ]
That sounds promising. [ Matt pulled out his phone and started a timer for 5:00. A small smile. ] Do you want me to do the pinching, or do you have it covered?

[ Konoka took the time waiting to sip down on her tea. ]

I can make fire. But I don't know how to connect that to something in my body--I mean, to affect something in my body, rather than drawing on energy channeled through my body. Walk me through that?

This latter one is kinda brand new territory for me. There are spells I know that bolster the body, right? So I cast a bolstering spell that's... a trigger. And then that trigger lets me use a basic spell. Neat, right?
I'm hoping that it doesn't use too much magic though...

[ So he is talking about enhancement magic itself. ]
It's basically channeling mana through the body. It enhances the body's ability. A battle form of it, Cantus Bellax, was a favorite technique of my teacher's way back when.
[ It's a simple enough spell that she's capable of doing, but she's rarely thought to use it. Mostly because Cantus Bellax was the main one she remembered and it was taxing, especially here where Manna was more tightly tied to life force. ]
But that form is a little intense and too taxing to use in a situation like this. So I want to try something a lot milder and easier to maintain through a session.

Okay, so ... what ability does it enhance exactly? I can see how in battle you might want to promote endurance, for instance. Or maybe alertness? Which is actually something I know how to do, I just approach it from the mind rather than thinking about the body a whole. [ He smiled sheepishly. ] Sorry, I think I'm doing the thing again where I ask a million questio--
[ Ding! Saved by the bell, or in this case the timer. ]

However, that timer going off was a godsend. No offense, but she wanted a break now! And her spell hadn't accidentally fired off, so it was working so far...! Konoka lifted an arm and an index finger before roughly pinching the soft part of her inner elbow. At once she felt something like her whole body twitch once, the stored up 'Ardescat' spell eventually bursting loose from the extended index finger into a tiny flame. ]

[ Well. A little flammable. But they could keep a bucket of water handy if it came down to it. ]
Oh, wow, that is neat. I gotta see what I can come up with on my end.

[ Matt caught the hug just in time to return it with one arm. He relaxed a little into the contact--all touch felt good to him, comforting on some level, especially if the person doing the touching was attractive--and then it was gone.
He gave Konoka another smile, small and warm. ]
